Reinforced graphite composite sheet with tanged steel core for high-temperature sealing. Ideal for cylinder head and exh.....
Reinforced Graphite Composite Sheet is engineered from high-purity flexible graphite bonded to a perforated carbon steel tanged sheet (08F tinplate) with a thickness of 0.18–0.25 mm. This mechanical reinforcement creates a durable sealing material with excellent thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength. It is widely regarded as one of the most reliable materials for cylinder head gaskets and exhaust gaskets in internal combustion engines.
The composite structure combines the sealing performance of graphite with the rigidity of steel reinforcement, ensuring a secure seal under high temperature, high pressure, and thermal cycling conditions. Its superior resistance to oxidation, tensile loading, and stress relaxation makes it suitable for demanding sealing environments in automotive and industrial applications.
Features
Strong Composite Structure
The sheet consists of flexible graphite permanently clinched to a perforated steel core, providing excellent dimensional stability and load-bearing capability.
High Thermal Resistance
Operates from −200°C to 2500°C under non-oxidizing conditions, with an oxidation threshold of approximately 500°C in air.
Mechanical Strength
Delivers high tensile strength and compressive strength, ensuring reliable sealing under fluctuating pressures.
Excellent Sealing Performance
Uniform compressibility and recovery characteristics allow the material to conform to flange irregularities and maintain sealing integrity over time.
Purity and Durability
Graphite purity exceeds 98%, with ash content below 1%, providing enhanced chemical resistance and long service life in harsh media.
